On 15th-17th December 2025, the CiM team hosted a session at the annual Theoretical Archaeology Group (TAG) conference in York.
The theme of the conference was 'Theory in Practice' so we took to the stage to discuss how collaborative artistic works can widen access and understanding of heritage and archaeology. We were joined by artists, heritage professionals and academics from across the world to showcase the work being undertaken in collaboration with local communities.
The aim was to learn from each other’s successes and struggles, and inspire other delegates to open more meaningful and creative conversations with communities about their heritage.
Unfortunately, we were unable to record the talks given due to the complex nature of the day, but instead we have put together a map showcasing the work of the speakers for you to explore. Here you will find brief summaries of the work going on, clips and audio snippets demonstrating some of the outputs of that work, and links to further reading, websites and more!
