By contributing to the archive, you can help monitor coastal change.

We are creating this archive is to develop a record of coastal change. This means that not every historical record is appropriate for deposition within the Coasts in Mind archive. We only want to add materials that will create data about the coast

Some images have obvious evidence of change, like a photo of a landslip. Other markers of change are more subtle and require local knowledge to identify – like an image showing boats in an area that is now dry land or children playing on a beach that is now constantly under water. This local knowledge makes the community crucial to the Coasts in Mind project.

By collecting many records, extracting the information about the coast and linking them to a specific location and period of time, Coasts in Mind will build a timeline of coastal change for each of the project areas.

This section will provide guidance on completing records in the platform and providing the best possible associated data.
