Some key sources of data that can help you add extra information to your record.

Lloyd's Register Foundation Heritage & Education Centre

The Heritage and Education Centre (HEC) is the home of the archives, library and museum objects created and collected by Lloyd’s Register (LR). The archives include records relating to the survey and classification of ships covering 1833-1960s, administrative records, staff records, legal papers and records relating to estates and buildings. A large portion of the surveying material is digitised and freely available online, as are the Register Books and related publications created by LR. The library contains around 60,000 books and has a special collection of some 400 volumes relating to naval architecture and ship design, engineering, and wider maritime history. Alongside caring for these collections, HEC also funds research and grants in the heritage sector that seek to engineer a safer future through lessons learned from the past.

If your record relates to historic shipping try looking in the Lloyd's archive for additional information you can add.

British Geological Survey Viewer

The British Geological Survey Map Viewer is a web app that allows you to see the underlying and superficial geology of the entire UK.

If you're looking for more information to complete the Observing the Land Surface field, the British Geological Survey Map Viewer may help.

CITiZAN

CITiZAN, the Coastal and Intertidal Zone Archaeological Network, highlights the threat of coastal erosion to a wealth of foreshore and intertidal sites. These archaeological features encompass a huge time span, many are of considerable local or national significance and most have no statutory protection.

CITiZAN established an infrastructure and network of volunteers with the skills, commitment and support to record, monitor and promote fragile and threatened archaeological intertidal sites.

You may use the CITiZAN Coastal Map to view the archive and learn more background information about a record you are creating in the Coasts in Mind platform.
