The Regions

We are collecting records for four regions that are vulnerable to coastal change.

During our 2025-2027 National Lottery Heritage funded delivery phase we are focusing our data collection in four regions: Poole Harbour, Sefton Coast, Swale Estuary, Taw-Torridge Estuary

These areas have been selected as places that are very vulnerable to the effects of climate change and will benefit most from the data we create.

Within the community archive you will see the red shaded boundaries which mark out the limit of the areas we are currently collecting records for.

To develop our methods, we are only collecting data from these four areas to begin with, then we can expand to the entire coast of the UK.

For more information about the areas we are working in, head to the Regions page.
